CURRENT OPENINGS:

Carpenter – Missoula / Western Montana

Build, install and repair construction from wood, metal and other materials as needed to assist with the various types and sizes of constructions projects. These tasks will be performed on residential and commercial construction projects. Travel out of town may be required depending on site location.

Qualifications and Required Skills

  1. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  2. Ability to communicate and follow instructions in English
  3. Ability to read, write and do basic math
  4. Must provide own basic tools
  5. Good physical condition and endurance
  6. Previous construction experience is required
  7. Knowledge of framing wood or metal materials is required
  8. Ability to read and understand blueprints or building plans
  9. Finish Carpentry skills are desired
  10. Completion of a two-year carpentry program through a trade school and/or accredited carpenter’s apprenticeship program is desired
  11. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical

Essential Job Duties, and Responsibilities

  1. Shows up to work on time for the required shift at the assigned job site
  2. Performs work in a safe manner for themselves and those around them
  3. Receives and follows all instructions from leadership
  4. Keeps all tools clean and in working condition
  5. Helps maintain a clean job site by conducting housekeeping (cleaning trash, removing debris, sweeping, etc.)
  6. Conducts demolition of structures
  7. Loads, unloads and moves building materials
  8. Uses various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects
  9. Installs doors, windows, trim, FRP and weather protection materials
  10. Install door hardware: door handles, locks, hinges, kickplates, and closers
  11. Utilized and properly use Safety PPE and perform the work in accordance with construction safety rules and regulations

Additional Notes

  1. Once certified, use a telehandler forklift or skidsteer to complete tasks
  2. Use a company vehicle to pick up materials in pull enclosed trailers and equipment trailers under the CDL threshold

This position is extremely strenuous. Applicants must be able to lift and carry heavy objects. Applicants must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Activities will include climbing ladders or scaffolding, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling and standing for long periods of time. Applicants must have excellent manual dexterity of the fingers, hands and arms. Applicants must also have full mobility of the neck, back, arms and legs. Applicants must be able to see clearly and recognize small details.
